“Then I would not be ashamed when I think about all your commands.”—Ps 119:6

Happy New YEAR!! 2018 should and can be a year of no shame for you! When we obey God shame has no place in our life. Obedience opens doors to honor and blessing.

In Deuteronomy the blessings were activated over the people with obedience. Jesus walked in full obedience to the Father so He walked in all the blessings God had spoken of to the people of Israel. He had access to blessing. Jesus obeyed unto death and death on a cross! Proverbs speaks about honor and obedience being the key to honor.  The opposite of shame is honor. No one wants to walk in shame. No one desires to have shame be what speaks over them. The enemy is the father of lies and lies lead to shame. He desires we walk covered with shame and thus with our heads bowed low. Not looking ahead to the glorious future God has prepared for those who love God. When shame is a part of our walk we do not dream big or have vision for the future. We tend to assume we will fail. Shame can speak loud but the blood of Jesus speaks louder.

The blood speaks a better word, not shame or condemnation. Today if you obey God and His word shame will roll off your life. As you walk into 2018 ask the Holy Spirit to show you what areas of your life need to come under the obedience of God? What areas did you not walk in obedience to God in 2017? Not so you can walk accused but so this is the year you walk in obedience to God and thus invite honor and blessing!

According to this truth found in Psalm 119:6 to even think about God’s commands repels shame. How much more to walk them out? How exciting to know God hates shame and does not desire it for us! I want to walk in honor His word brings upon my life!
